What is Big Cartel anyway? What features does it have?
Big Cartel is a simple e-commerce platform that provides you with your own independent store to sell your stuff online. It’s targeted to small, indie brand owners, but anybody can sell products using Big Cartel. You can check out the features of Big Cartel on their Tour page. What Big Cartel plan do I need to use your themes?
In order to install a Theme Fiend theme, you will need to be using Big Cartel’s platinum plan or higher. You can view Big Cartel pricing plans here..

What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover credit/debit cards via PayPal. You don’t need to have a PayPal account to order.

Once I purchase a theme how do I receive it?
You will be sent an e-mail that contains the files for the theme, which you will have to download, by clicking the download link. Once you download the product, make sure to unzip the compressed zip file (for themes only).[/expand]

How secure is this site?
Theme Fiend uses PayPal for processing payments, and PayPal automatically encrypts your confidential information in transit from your computer to ours using the Secure Sockets Layer protocol (SSL) with an encryption key length of 128-bits (the highest level commercially available.[/expand]

If I’m not satisfied with the theme that I purchased, can I get a refund or “swap” themes?
Sorry, but since we’re selling digital products, we do not give refunds once you’ve purchased a theme from us. Also, we do not allow the ability to exchange, or “swap”, one purchased theme for another one. Make sure to view the live demos of the theme, as well as the details of the theme,  before making your purchase decision, to make sure that you purchased the theme that’s right for you.

Also, sometimes upon purchasing a theme, you may run into installation issues. We recommend first following the installation directions included in the THEME INSTRUCTIONS file in the folder containing your theme files. If you still run into issues with installation, you can contact us via our support board, with your shop login info, and we’ll help install your theme.

Getting Started

How do I actually put the theme I downloaded on my site?
Once you have downloaded and unziped the files for the theme, you should see all of the theme files. If you’re using a PC, you should open these files in either Notepad, Wordpad, or Microsoft Word. If you’re using a Mac computer, you should open themes files in an internet browser, such as Firefox, Opera, or Safari.

Once you open the file in the text editor, copy and paste the code in the corresponding page of your Big Cartel account admin. For example, if you copied the the code from the ‘ProductS’ file, make sure to paste it into the ‘Products’ page in your Big Cartel account admin. Also, make sure to delete all code that’s currently in the page so that it’s blank, before pasting the code from the file of the theme that you downloaded. 

The default theme that you must have selected for your shop, before installing any files, is Big Cartel’s ‘Sexy‘ theme.

Is it possible to import one of your themes into my Big Cartel shop?
The only way to ‘import’ the theme is by copying each page’s code from the theme files and pasting them into the corresponding pages in your Big Cartel admin. The option to import a theme with the click of a button is currently not possible, but hopefully in the future Big Cartel will make that option possible.

Our themes are compatible with all major browsers:Internet Explorer 8, Mozilla Firefox 3.5+, Google Chrome, Safari, and Opera.
